New to the forum. I joined because I was excited to see all the Sturgeon Lake chat going on. I'm from the Lindsay area and my parents have a boat they keep on Sturgeon Lake that I can use from time to time. Already picked up alot of great tips and hints just reading old posts.

I have never been a avid fisher up until now. I can't get enough these days. So far my focus has been on Bass and I'm still in the middle of a steep learning curve. I hope to develop my fishing skills and pull some monsters out of Sturgeon.

Hi, new here and want to introduce myself.  I just started fishing again last summer after not doing it since I was 14 or so.

Been looking around for a forum to hang at to chat and get info on local tournaments.

I fish mostly bass, but do go after fish with teeth as well.

Scott

Hey,

New to this forum.. a little background about me.. I've always been into fishing since I caught my first largemouth bass at age 7.. I've enjoyed it recreationally, but in the last year or so I've been seriously bitten by the bug, and finding a strictly ontario freshwater fishing forum takes the cake for me.. so I look forward to interact with this great community of fisherman..

I Live in the heart of Toronto, and I've got a few nice spots that I like to fish that can actually produce some decent fish.. along with that, during the summer and fall I try to make it up to two of my buddies cottages, one being around North Bay, and one being on Georgian Bay..

anyway, look forward to talking about this great passion with yall.. sport fishing!

-Jason K.

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome. I live in owen sound and just got back from an icefishing trip on lake nippissing. Talk about a trip to remember. We had to cut our trip short one day early due to the fact that quite a few ice huts were flying by us at about 30 to 40kmh and we were losing ice by the hour. All was not lost though, I managed to haul in an 8lb walleye and an 8.5lb pike. It definately kicked my year into high gear.

Hi castmaster sounds like you had quite the outing up on nippissing, if one of those flying huts would have slammed into you... well that wouldn't have been good . Glad you made it back home in one piece. Hey that walleye and pike a couple of nice fish can't complain about that nice.

This forum is a great time. I was a guide and instructor for 15yrs and really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with other anglers. It doesn't matter if your new to the sport or have been fishing for years everyone can learn. I have a couple of threads (got a river fishing?...just ask!) and (got a float fishing question?...just ask!). I do my best to answere every question asked, and do so in a way that doesn't make the person feel stupid, or with the attitude "I can't believe you don't know that!" this helps no one, and stops them from asking questions in the future. People should not be afraid to ask even the most basic of questions, everybody has got to start somewhere. I check my threads a couple of times a day and spend as long as it takes to answere any questions. I am going to start a few more threads so I can hopefully help more people learn about the sport I love.............Troutslayr
